I’ve long been a fan of personality types. Myers-Briggs, Keirsey Temperament Sorter, Rorschach Inkblot, D.I.S.C., True Colors, Energy Profiles, Fascinate Assessment, and other fun quirky ones you find all over the internet.
They intrigue me. They help me feel connected to my inner self and also to the outer world of other people connecting to their inner-selves. It’s a great reminder that although I recharge best alone, I’m never really alone in being odd. We’re all odd in our unique way, including you extroverts.
Which is one reason I spent time combing the website Introvert, Dear, reading all about my INFP self.
Getting to the point of being okay being an introvert in an extrovert world starts as a daunting journey at best and can be downright disheartening at times. In other words for the extroverts reading this, it’s damned hard regularly for a while until it’s not. Until you’ve cultivated a group of friends who understand you and accept you as you are.
So it’s nice to see introvert author Andre Sólo, along with the founder of Introvert, Dear, Jenn Granneman design a coloring book specifically for other introverts.
A Coloring Book Journey Introvert Dreams illustrated by Maxeem Konrardy, featuring 90 coloring pages, with almost 60 pages consisting of two-page scenes.
The book has a poignant story line with a quiet girl and her cat searching for the elusive and legendary seven-pointed star.
It’s a place where those of us who are so inclined can get lost in the fantastical whimsy of an inner story while connecting not just with gel ink pen or watercolor pencil to paper. Even when we can only go there for 5 or 10 minutes a day.
